Built Bobine, a CLI that turns any URL into a 9:16 short-form video (TikTok / Reels / Shorts) for ~$0.01 per render. Claude writes the script, edge-tts voices it, FFmpeg composites it over a looped gameplay background.
Bobine is a Python CLI that takes a URL and a background gameplay clip, and produces a vertical 30-second video with AI-written script, AI voiceover, and word-synced burned-in captions. Pipeline: scrape the page with httpx + trafilatura, call Claude Sonnet 4.5 via structured tool use to write a script, generate voiceover with edge-tts (Microsoft Edge's TTS endpoint), use edge-tts word boundaries directly for per-word caption timings (no Whisper, no forced alignment), then compose everything with a single FFmpeg pass: loop the background, center-crop to 9:16, burn the ASS subtitles, mux the audio. Three modes: fully automated (URL → video), pre-written script (zero API calls, $0.00 per render), and text-file mode for paywalled or login-walled pages. Total cost in fully automated mode: ~$0.01 per video, just the Claude script call. The CLI is the foundation underneath a larger Bobine product roadmap covering branded characters, cloned voices, real AI video generation, and content calendars.
