Delivered "AI Era: A Student's Guide," a 90-minute online workshop for engineering students followed by an open Q&A. The session started with why AI feels sudden despite more than 70 years of research, then traced the field from symbolic systems and machine learning through deep learning, transformers, ChatGPT, multimodal models, and tool-using agents. It also unpacked the physical supply chain behind every AI answer: chip design, EUV lithography, advanced fabrication, HBM and packaging, accelerator clusters, data centers, cooling, and grid power. The final section focused on what this shift means for young engineers, including changing task economics, durable technical foundations, AI-native development habits, production reliability, specialization, portfolio design, and a practical 12-month learning roadmap.
